…To Lose My Mind, And Find My Soul.”          John Muir

Me, myself, and I like to {occasionally} hike,  so off we went in search of a waterfall in the Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee.

After driving up, up, up a long gravelly road looking for the Gee Creek Waterfall, I thought I’d finally found it.

The forest was peaceful;  but, it was hard to hear any wilderness sounds with all my huffing & puffing.  After a half hour of hard climbing (almost straight up) over exposed roots and rocks, I admitted defeat- I was on the wrong trail- no waterfall.

Nonetheless, this quote from Harvey Broome sums up perfectly being alone with nature:

Driving down the mountain, I found a little waterfall.  It wasn’t the big waterfall I was looking for, but beautiful nonetheless.
