Someone did a lot of work removing the “T” and the “P” on this sign at “Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap” bordering the Great Smoky Mountains.

This Appalachian Trail sign near Fontana Lake Marina, in NC was touching. A woman’s husband died before he could hike the entire trail, so she placed his boots with pebbles inside and asked hikers to take a pebble and upon completion of the trail to take a selfie with the pebble. Very sweet.

EditSaw a good sign, but no pic. “If Mamma ain’t happy ain’t nobody’s happy” (which I’ve seen a hundred times) But THIS one made me smile:  “If Pappa ain’t happy, nobody cares.”
